BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CAPT. THOMAS W. PINTO

Chairman and Managing Director

Capt. Thomas Pinto is the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of our Company. He has been the Chairman since incorporation, and became the Chairman-cum-Managing Director with effect from January 2004. He has received a certificate of competency as Master of a Foreign-Going Ship from the Government of India. He has over 30 years of experience in the shipping industry, and has held various positions such as master of vessels. Prior to incorporating our Company, he was a marine superintendent in Mercator Lines Limited.

MR. SUJIT G. PARSATWAR

Director

Mr. Sujit Parsatwar is a Non-Executive Director of our Company. He has been on our Board since June 2014. He has obtained a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in commerce from the University of Bombay. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is a finance professional and has been a partner in Parsatwar and Company, Chartered Accountants since March 02, 2004. He has experience in auditing, corporate finance, financial advisory, due diligence and management consulting. He has been associated with our Company since incorporation and has been involved in financial analysis, accounting review and tax consultancy.

MR. SUMIT MAHESHWARI

Nominee Director

Mr. Sumit Maheshwari is a Non-Executive, Nominee Director on our board of directors. Mr. Maheshwari joined Fairbridge Capital Private Limited in 2011 and has been the Managing Director of Fairbridge Capital Private Limited since May 2018. Mr. Maheshwari is responsible to source, evaluate, negotiate, execute and exit investment opportunities at Fairbridge Capital Private Limited. He is also responsible to monitor the portfolio companies thereat. Mr. Maheshwari has been involved in the investments of Bangalore International Airport Limited, Sanmar Group, CSB Bank Limited, Fairchem Organics Limited, Seven Islands Shipping Limited, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, Quess Corp Limited, Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited amongst others. Mr. Maheshwari serves on the board of directors of many of Fairfax’s portfolio companies. Prior to joining Fairbridge Capital Private Limited, Mr. Maheshwari worked with KPMG in India and the UK in their audit and accounting advisory functions. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, has completed the Post Graduate Programme in Management from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and holds Bachelors of Commerce and Masters of Commerce degrees from the University of Mumbai. Mr. Maheshwari is a resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

Mr. ANIL DEVLI

Independent Director

Mr. Anil Devli serves as an independent director on our board of directors. He has extensive experience in the container shipping business, wet bulk, dredging and offshore supply services. He has experience on working with national and regional governments, quasi-governmental agencies as well as government owned companies. Mr. Devli is an active member of working groups and Boards of Govt. of India, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and maritime think tanks. He has played senior management roles in at Mercator Lines Limited, Shreyas Shipping & Logistics Ltd and Global Offshore Services Limited. Presently, Mr. Devli holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of Indian National Shipowners Association and is associated with Ocean Sparkle Limited as its independent director.

MR. UDAY M. GORE

Independent Director

Mr. Uday Gore is a Non-Executive, Independent Director of our Company. He has been associated with our Company since August 2017. He holds a bachelor’s degree in arts from Osmania University. Prior to joining our Company, he was working with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.

Ms. SANJEEVLATA SAMDANI

Independent Director

Ms. Sanjeevlata Samdani is an Independent Director of our Company. She is a fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, an associate of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and has obtained a master’s degree of commerce and bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. She has earlier been associated with Jyoti Structures Limited as their company secretary and compliance officer and currently serves as a director on the board of KBS India Limited.

KEY EXECUTIVES

MR. CLAYTON PINTO

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Clayton Pinto is the Chief Executive Officer of the Company and is a key decision maker in commercial management, ship sale and purchase as well as operations. Prior to this, he served as Chief Operating Officer, before which he was an Executive Director with the Company. Prior to that, he supervised the functioning of Chartering, Manning, S&P, Technical, ISM, Finance and Purchase departments with assistance from the respective heads of departments for a period of 3 years. He has completed his master’s degree in International Shipping from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom and has obtained a Master of Science in Finance from Babson College, USA. Clayton is part of the management team that makes strategic decisions on future growth. He engages in discussions and negotiations with business relations, partners and brokers on capital asset acquisitions along with chartering activities.

CAPT. PRADEEP CORREA

Chief Operating Officer

Capt. Pradeep Correa joined SISL as Chief Operating Officer in March 2020. He is responsible for supervising all operating functions like chartering, technical management, manning, safety management and port and cargo operations within the Company. He has about 20 years of experience heading various functions at Great Eastern Shipping, eventually heading their fleet personnel manning team. Was elected Chairman of the Governing Council at Narottam Morarji Institute of Shipping and was a distinguished member for a decade. He also served as Chairman of the INSA/NUSI Rehabilitation Trust. Capt. Correa helped Great Eastern Shipping set up their maritime training institute aided by his more than 30 years of experience as a master mariner. He was also chosen to represent India at the ILO convention in Geneva for the Maritime Labor Convention.

MR. WARREN G. PINTO

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Warren Pinto is the Chief Financial Officer of our Company. He has been associated with our Company since February 2016. He is responsible for the financial functions and for managing the financial risks of our Company. He has obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Mumbai and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Rochester. Prior to joining our Company, he worked with Thirdware Solutions Limited and QAD India Private Limited.

MR. JAY B. PAREKH

Company Secretary

Mr. Jay Parekh is the Company Secretary of our Company. He has been associated with our Company since August 2017. He is responsible for advising our Board in relation to compliance requirements as per the Companies Act and the rules framed thereunder. He has obtained a master’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai. He is an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and holds an advance diploma in management accounting from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Prior to joining our Company, he worked with Jaiprakash R. Singh and Associates, Company Secretaries.

CAPT. PHILIP MATHEWS

Head Of Fleet Personnel Management

Capt. Philip Mathews holds the position of Head Of Fleet Personnel Management in our Company. He heads the Company’s Fleet Personnel Management function and manages all processes therein. He is qualified as an Extra Master and holds an M.Sc. in Maritime Affairs from the World Maritime University. Prior to joining SISL, Capt. Mathews worked with Shipping Corporation of India, having sailed for twenty years on their vessels and thereafter heading their Fleet Personnel team. He has also served as the Chairman of the Company of Master Mariners of India and as Chairman of the Board of Examination for Seafarers Trust.

MR. ANJAN KUMAR DEB

Chief Information Officer

Mr. Anjan Kumar Deb has been with SISL since May 2020 as the Chief Information Officer. He leads a team of highly qualified IT professionals who are helping transform the company from a technology perspective. Mr. Deb strives to infuse meaningful automation into operational processes and add layers of data analysis to available information. He has been at the forefront of technology innovation in the shipping sector, having spent about 10 years as IT head at the Great Eastern Shipping Company. Prior to that, he worked in the technology function of financial companies and managed projects in the IT industry. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Statistics and a Masters in Business Management.

MR. SUBOTH KUMAR

Head – Technical

Mr. Suboth Kumar is a chief engineer with 37 years of professional experience (12 years of sailing and 25 years of shore work) and has worked with organisations like Lloyds Register of Shipping, TORM Shipping India Private Limited, Scorpio Marine Management (India) Private Limited, and MTM Ship Management (India) Private Limited. He is responsible for technical matters of all the vessels and plays a major role in identifying vessels to be purchased. He manages the performance of takeover formalities and safe vessel operation. He has been with Seven Islands Shipping Limited since December 2020 in the capacity of Head – Technical.

CAPT. RAJESH KUMAR

Head – Operations

Capt. Rajesh Kumar has 41 years of professional experience (25 years of sailing and 16 years of shore work) with Shipping Corporation of India. He is responsible for daily operational management of all the vessels. He advises vessel masters and other marine superintendents on port and cargo operations, to ensure efficient performance of chartering operations. He has been associated with Seven Islands Shipping Limited since January 2021 in the capacity of Head – Operations.

CAPT. NIMISH MHATRE

Senior General Manager, ISM

Capt. Nimish Mhatre holds the position of Senior General Manager – International Safety Management in the company. He has diverse and extensive maritime experience of 30 years. (Over 15 years of shore). He has sailed on a wide range of tankers including on LPG vessels with Wilhelmsen Ship Management. Thereafter, he worked as a Safety and Quality Superintendent with Anglo-Eastern Ship Management, improving operations of LNG vessels. Capt. Mhatre went on to work in a senior managerial role in HSSEQ at TORM A/S and Anglo-Eastern Ship Management. He is a Certified ISO 9001 QMS Lead Auditor and is also certified for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. He also serves as the Designated Person Ashore of the company.
